New to backups
Your first backup app, done properly
KopiaLens backs up your folders on a schedule, keeps every version, and gets any file back when you need it. You don't need to know Kopia to use it.
What a good backup looks like
KopiaLens does all four, and the whole backup app is free.
- It runs on its own, on a schedule
- It keeps a copy away from your computer, on a NAS or cloud storage
- It keeps older versions, so a mistake from last month can be undone
- You check now and then that files really come back
Getting started
- Download KopiaLens for Windows, macOS or Linux.
- Choose where backups go: a drive, a NAS or cloud storage. This becomes your repository.
- Pick folders and a schedule. KopiaLens backs them up from then on.
- Restore a file once to see it work.
Words you'll see
- Repository: the place your backups are stored.
- Snapshot: one backup of a folder at a moment in time.
- Policy: the rules for a folder: when it backs up, what it keeps, what it skips.
- Deduplication: storing repeated data once, so backups stay small.
Free to download. Your first backup takes a few minutes to set up.
