These terms cover the KopiaLens app and the kopialens.com website. Buying a Pro licence is also covered by the Pro licence terms and the refund policy. What we collect is described in the privacy policy. By using KopiaLens or this website, you agree to these terms.

Who we are

Using KopiaLens

• You may install and use KopiaLens free of charge, for personal use and at work, including in an organisation.
• Pro features need a Pro licence, bought under the Pro licence terms.
• You may share unmodified copies of KopiaLens downloaded from kopialens.com or the official KopiaLens releases on GitHub, free of charge. Please don't share modified copies.
• You may not sell KopiaLens, copies of it or licence keys without our written permission.
• You may not remove, disable or work around the licence checks in KopiaLens, or share licence keys, modified copies or tools made for that purpose.
• You may not remove copyright, licence or third-party notices from KopiaLens.

Your backups

KopiaLens reads your backup repositories, and some of its actions change or delete data inside them, such as removing files from snapshots, deleting snapshots or running maintenance. Nothing in a repository changes unless you start such an action. Before you start one, review its preview and, where offered, its dry run. You are responsible for the actions you run, and for keeping independent copies of data you can't afford to lose.

Third-party software

KopiaLens includes software by others, each under its own licence, among them the Kopia program under the Apache License 2.0. The full list ships with KopiaLens as its third-party notices (Settings → About). These terms don't change those licences.

Using the website

You're welcome to read, link to and share pages from this site. Please don't copy the site or its screenshots to present them as your own, or try to disrupt it.

The site describes KopiaLens as accurately as it can, but features, prices and plans can change. Screenshots may show an earlier version of the app.

No warranty

KopiaLens and this website are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We can't promise that KopiaLens will be free of errors or will meet every need.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of backups, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of KopiaLens or this website. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for KopiaLens in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited by agreement.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use KopiaLens or the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
